Professional Interests:
Dr. Mahlaqa Butt currently serves as the Administrative Fellow at Maimonides Medical Center. She completed her emergency medicine residency, including serving as Chief Resident, at Maimonides Medical Center. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and holds a Master of Public Health from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She is also pursuing her MBA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her professional interests include emergency department operations, healthcare administration, quality improvement, patient safety, clinical operations research, and health policy. Dr. Butt has served in national leadership roles with the American Academy of Emergency Medicine Operations Management Section and is actively involved in medical student education, mentorship, and resident recruitment. She has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed abstracts and manuscripts focused on emergency department operations and evidence-based emergency care.
