We take wellness seriously here at Maimonides. We have dedicated protected time for education Wednesday mornings and all clinical duties stop by Tuesday night. We regularly have social functions on Tuesday evenings when residents and faculty have the opportunity to gather to create a strong sense of community, camaraderie, and social support that we believe is critical to having a happy, healthy, and well residency program.
We all have stories to tell. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes heartbreaking and sometimes just inappropriate. Others can inspire us and reaffirm our decisions to become doctors. At Maimonides, Airway events are a showcase for the stories that happen in the ED, stories that enlighten us, expose our vulnerabilities, and quietly suggest ways to overcome the challenges we all face each day. https://airwaystories.org/
All emergency medicine residents attend SAEM conference during their EM1 year.
